We have played lots of Monopoly games over the years and it is the one game that the kids know the rules to without needing to be reminded.
Recently they have launched a few new versions of it called Monopoly Gamer. Bringing computer games and characters to the board game. These have slightly different rules to the original Monopoly, however, none the less just as fun to play.
We have Monopoly Gamer and that was a big hit in this house, so we went into the review of Monopoly Gamer Mario Kart with big expectations and we were not disappointed.
Based on what is probably one of the most well-known games of all time, Mario Kart, players get to play as their favourite characters.
Racing around the board to collect coins and properties which at the end are counted and added to your total. You can also gain points from competing in boss fights every time someone passes go.
In this game, there is no chance of being knocked out if you run out of cash. The game takes pity on you and lets you run around still hoping to collect coins back up and get yourself back into the game.
Each character has its own special ability which you can use throughout the game there is also the old favourites from the game too such as shells!
This game is easy to set up and understand, even for younger children. With the game taking about 30-45 minutes to complete too it’s not too long for children to play either. It has become a big hit in this house and the kids have loved playing it.
We will be keeping our eyes out for the additional characters that are coming out too, we brought all the characters for the original Monopoly Gamer and it gives the game a whole new dimension when you mix up the characters.
