Calming the mind & helping sleep – the natural way

I’ve written in the past about my anxiety issues and although it is far more under control than it used to be back then, it is still there. It loiters in the background waiting for something to trigger it, so it can get back out.

I know it will never really go away and it is something that I just manage on a day to day basis depending on how bad it is and how stressed/rundown I am feeling.

For me, the warning signs start to appear it their own quirky ways. I must check everything is locked up multiple times and the gas to the cooker is turned off etc, even if I have checked it and got into bed I always get up and check again. I can’t switch off at night and drift in and out of sleep, resulting in tiredness and all-around grumpiness the next day.

I do consider myself lucky in the fact I don’t have panic attacks and I am able to do a lot of things still however it is still a black cloud hovering over my head.

One thing I have tried to do with my anxiety over the years is not to take products that are not natural to help with the symptoms. After all, I don’t really want to pump my body full of chemicals and give my body more to deal with than it already has!

However, is there now a natural approach to help?

Mindful Matter has kindly sent me out their two new products L-Theanine capsules & Magnesium, Zinc & Vitamin B6 capsules to try out.

The L-Theanine is a natural amino acid that’s found in green tea and is found to help you have better focus, concentration and help with your clarity. It is good for those who may be just need a little help focusing in their busy day to day lives.

It is recommended to take the Magnesium, Zinc & Vitamin B6 alongside the L-Theanine capsules. These help to enhance your mood and help your natural sleep cycle. So, it is easy to see why taking both together is a good combination.

Calming the mind & helping sleep – the natural way

I am always sceptical when it comes to new products on the market, especially when they claim to do bold things such as helping you sleep.

On my first day of taking these, I did feel calmer and then about 8 pm ish I started to feel ready for bed. Not tired like I was about to fall asleep on my feet, but I could feel my mind relaxing into a sleep mode, that night I slept really well.

The following day was the same.

This was in the middle of the heatwave we had, being the sceptic that I have I assumed that it was the heat tiring me out, so decided to not take them for a few days and see what happened. The answer? I was back to where I was before, awake after midnight and up early!

They really had helped my body to relax into its own pattern and relax in a calming way, giving my mind the chance to just switch off when needed. It was as if my brain was able to swtich off the background noise and just sleep.

I really do think these work and would recommend them to those who may be just struggling a little, give your body a helping hand to get focused and back to being a bit more you.

If you would be interested in trying these out though you are in luck! I have one pack of each to give away to one lucky winner.
