Fun half term activities to do with the kids

Fun half term activities to do with the kids

#Ad – This is a collaborative post

Half term is almost upon us, the last 6 weeks have in fact flown by. However, sometimes it can feel a little overwhelming with the change in routine and for some of us, demanding children!

I am just wondering how long it will take for either of my two to say “I’m bored…”! After a busy summer of building work, we are going to be having a few days of relaxing over the next week and try and pack some fun in as well. It is Kayleigh’s birthday on Wednesday and she is having a sleepover (send help!).

If you are looking for some fun activities to do in the half-term holidays, here are our suggestions:

  1. Head to the pool – combine some fitness, fun and burn off some of that excess energy in the swimming pool. It is a perfect activity for the whole family to enjoy. If your children are still learning to swim why not look for swimming lessons for kids with Seriously Fun.
  2. Get outdoors with the National Trust – Lots of National Trust locations are running events over the half term, many with a spooky theme to celebrate Halloween. You can check out what is local to you here.
  3. Time to bake – Kayleigh and Ethan love to bake, they have no interest in baking for a long period however are more than happy to do fairy cakes or cookies. Of course, I am sure more of it is the fact they want to sample the goodies after!
  4. Have a film day – Why not plan a day of films, complete with popcorn and blankets on the sofa! Whether you watch something you’ve seen before or something new, there is always time for snuggles on the sofa with a good film.

These are just some of our favourite activities to do as a family, it is not all about how much you spend or the best things you can buy. Sometimes it is just about spending time as a family and doing the things you love.
