Luxury vinyl flooring is an option for the home due to the low-cost pricing, with the other benefit that appeals is the low maintenance required to keep it pristine.
Compacting anti-scratch, anti-stain, waterproof and moisture-resistant layers in one place, everything is in hand for every situation that could ruin the flooring. With that in mind, a few little touches of care will ensure it keeps a longer life and healthier look.
Removing Stains
When cleaning Invictus flooring, don’t expect to be on your hands and knees for long periods. It does not require expensive chemicals to retain its fresh appeal. It is among the better flooring products to clean daily available on the market.
When it comes to spillages such as juice or alcohol, simply sponging with warm soapy water or washing up liquid will remove most stains with placement on for no more than 15 minutes.
Those harder-to-shift stains, usually from sauces or ink-based liquids, require cleaning by mixing warm water and bicarbonate soda to form a paste-like substance. Place this paste on the area and slowly rub until the stain is no longer visible and is completely gone.
Mopping
Luxury vinyl flooring can block out any leakage between tiles and boards due to being 100 per cent waterproof. A simple household mop or sponge-based cleaning item is all you would need in most cases.
If you use a simple floor cleaning solution, you can use vinegar or washing-up liquid mixed with hot water to remove any deep stain that is stubborn. Be sure to thoroughly wring the mop after each section, not drenching your floor with more water, which can test your waterproof planks or tiles’ durability in waterproof design.
Your floor can receive damage from too much water and cause discolouration – as well as warping or bubbling up if the subfloor is soaked.
Scratches and Scuffs
Invictus, such as herringbone flooring, is incredibly durable – you will not have to worry about it succumbing to the usual daily abuse.
With deep scratches, damaged tiles and planks are replaceable without taking up sections of the floor. Light scratches can sand out with sandpaper, car wax or dish detergent (as long as none have any rubber extract). Dirt and debris need to be vacuumed before sanding down the vinyl so as not to damage the finish.
Dish detergent and water to clean away any dust from the sandpaper is essential, after which you can circle buff the floor with some car wax and a clean rag to give the floor a finish and have it look as good as new.
Always consult your supplier on the best cleaning techniques and products for your particular flooring to keep it looking healthy. Cleaning your luxury vinyl flooring is a quick practice by taking a little time each day.
