Our Messy Kids Competition entry

We were recently invite to have a go at entering the Two Little Fleas bloggers competition to show our messy kids!

Now I’ve spared you the pictures of Kayleigh and Ethan’s room, I thought the mix of Barbie’s taking the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for a ride in a pink car may be a bit much for some people!

So I’ve turned to our favourite past time, baking!

Since having a cooker fitted almost a month ago, we’ve been in the kitchen most weekends baking.

I love baking, I love teaching the kids the fun that can be had in the kitchen, I don’t however like the mess. Especially not when I have OCD!

The kids are getting better at baking (and team work) and I think that has something to do with them being in the kitchen from such a young age.

I have just uploaded my pictures from my hard drive after about a year and looking through it, made it clear why the kids have got better, it seems we are in the kitchen more than I remember!

However they still have not learnt how to bake without destroying the kitchen! We start of baking well then it turns into something like this:

HalloweenBut it is all worth it!

Both Kayleigh and Ethan love baking and have learnt how to measure out ingredients, make biscuits and cakes and most importantly decorate and taste test them all!

This weekend we decided to go with some Halloween baking, ready for the spooky day! HalloweenHalloween

I tried to decorate some biscuits, but I think the kids looked better!

So if your looking for something to do this weekend but not sure what, head into the kitchen with the kids and get baking!
