Good morning and welcome back to another meal plan. We finally had our Musclefood delivery arrive at the weekend so our freezer is stocked and ready to go. I decided to just go with this mince and chicken pack, as it is meats we will use all the time. It didn’t work out much cheaper than the supermarket however the quality is far superior so it is worth ordering it.
This week we are trying to eat a little healthier and are planning to make lots of meals from scratch. We have also decided to try and have fish twice a week however I didn’t realise how expensive fish was! In the past, we have brought our fish from Costco and prepared then froze it ready for use. This time I brought some from Asda, 4 fillets of salmon and 4 fillets of cod frozen cost me almost £8. They were not particularly large portions either. Going forward we will head back to Costco to pick up our fish and stock up each visit
So this week’s menu is a combination of new meals to try out and meals that we have tried and tested before. All of the meals are going to be made from scratch so we can see exactly what is going in them, some of the meals will be bulk cooked so they can be frozen and make life a little easier for us too in days/weeks to come.
Our meal plan – 13/05/19:
Monday –
Tandoori salmon and rice – We love this recipe from Tesco food.
Tuesday –
Chicken Rogan– We didn’t have this in the end last week so planning it again this week.
Wednesday –
Spaghetti bolognaise – This is another dish I plan to make up and bulk out this week. Always have leftovers of this which we can freeze for another week.
Thursday –
Tuna pasta bake – Trying out a new recipe from Pinch Of Nom book.
Friday –
Chilli con Carne – I love making chilli con carne, it is a great dish to make as you can bulk this out with beans and vegetables for next to nothing but it can be so filling too.
Saturday –
Steamed cod, new potatoes and veg – Simple but very tasty!
Sunday –
Homemade pizzas & doughballs – Was due to be made last week but I didn’t realise I had run out of flour!
I’m really looking forward to getting back into more home cooking but also meals as a family we can all enjoy (well mostly…).
