Good morning and welcome back to this week’s meal plan.
Last week, we actually stuck to our meal plan quite well and it was nice being able to not think about dinners too much, I am hoping this week is the same. The month has just flown by and it is hard to imagine that we are already heading into October and Christmas is less than 3 months away.
Like last week, I plan to go for easy meals but start to bring in some dishes we have not had in a while or maybe not tried before to mix it up a little. There are also going to be a few easy dishes too, just to make it easier for me on busy evenings. It has been easier with meal plans since we invested in the slow cooker and George Foreman grill, so I am glad we did in the end for both of those. I just need to find a few new dishes to try in them both and open up our options.
Anyway, for now, though, let’s get back to this week’s meal plan.
Our weekly meal plan – 27/09/21
Monday –
Chicken Kievs and chips – Not even going to lie, these are coming straight out of the freezer and into the oven! I love chicken Kievs, just do not have any interest in making them from scratch.
Tuesday –
Hearty sausage casserole – This is a new dish for us to try out and I plan on doing this one in the slow cooker. I have not tried cooking sausages in the slow cooker so I am looking forward to seeing how these turn out.
Wednesday –
Tuna pasta bake – It is back on the menu, simply because it is one of those dishes that everyone eats without complaining.
Thursday –
Tacos – I can’t remember the last time I did tacos, so we are having them this week There is a mixture of soft taco fans and crunchy taco fans in this house so I will do both!
Friday –
Homemade curry with homemade naan bread – A while back I made naan bread using the Pinch of Nom recipe and they were delicious, but I have not made them since. Today I will give them another go, I may be lazy and stick the curry in the slow cooker whilst we are at work.
Saturday –
Firecracker chicken and rice – It has been a long time since I made this and it was really tasty when we had it, so I am hoping it is just as nice this time around.
Sunday –
Roast or stew – Again we are back on our roasts and stew options as the colder weather comes in. You can’t beat a hearty stew in the Autumn months.
Nothing too fancy this week but some dishes we have not had in a while. I’m hoping that a mixture of meals will encourage the children to try a few different dishes this week. I have found that I am less tempted to reach for the takeaways lately whilst we are using the slow cooker, it just takes some of the efforts out of cooking in the evenings.
During the holidays, I don’t mind cooking, however after a day at work, I just can not be bothered! It takes a little bit too much effort to cook and I find myself creeping back into laziness with it all.
