In life its hard to appreciate what you really have when life is passing by at 100 mph.
Sometimes you take things for granted that maybe you should have enjoyed for that extra few minutes, such as the cuddles in bed when they should be asleep or the non stop chatter in the bath.
For me this is savouring the school run.
I know, I must be mad with screaming children and hordes of people just wandering everywhere or the cliques of parents but there is just something magical about it when you strip everything away and just come back to you and your little one.
I very rarely get the chance to pick the kids up or drop them at school due to work but when I do, I make sure I enjoy the moment.
They are always so excited to share with me their adventures they have planned for the day or those that they have done that day. Once they start talking they get so excited that sometimes I’m pretty sure they may explode with their excitement!
I once read a quote on pinterest that I’m going to share as it struck a cord:
Listen earnestly to anything your children want to tell you, no matter what
If you don’t listen eagerly to the little stuff when they are little,
they wont tell you the big stuff when they are big,
because to them all of it has always been big stuff.

It is so true.
We are always so engrossed in what’s going on these days and technology, we sometimes forget what is right in front of us.
So tomorrow whilst you’re doing the dreaded school run, take a step back and absorb what’s going on.
They don’t stay little forever.
