Parenting… the best bits

Being a parent is hard work at times but the most rewarding job you will ever have.

There is no way of warning someone who’s about to become a first time parent of what lies ahead, the rollercoaster of going from stressed one minute to feeling tears of joy the next and that feeling your heart is going to beat out of your chest.

You become amazed that these little babies you brought into the world become little people with personalities but also go on to achieve big things.

As a parent all I want my two to do is try hard and be happy.

They do that and so much more.

Kayleigh is learning so much lately and her reading is coming along so well she’s moving reading bands every other month or so. She’s also represented her school in a sports festival of some a local event.

Ethan has started school and is thriving in learning, he loves to show you that he can add things up or is starting to read words.

Each time they do something like this I wont lie I feel so proud I could burst.

I love listening to them singing when they think no-one is listening or snuggled up on the sofa watching tv in the mornings.

I still to this day sneak into their bedroom before I go to bed to check they are ok and to just watch them sleep, hold their hands for a few minutes.

They look so peaceful but it reminds me of how lucky we are to be given the chance to be parents.

Like its been said before, its like applying for a job and getting it with no experience required but it is the most rewarding job you will ever have.
